Tim Burton gives you freely to enter your world and create; Judging if she enjoys her face view, “says Oscar won by British hair designer Christine Blundell, who first worked with Burton for the first time Beetlejulice Beetlejujice. Among the film’s awards are three nominations (the best special makeup effects, the best period and/or makeup characters and the best period and/or character of hair style) at the makeup artist and guild hairstyles and NOM in the fantasy feature film category on Art Directors Guild Excellence in Production awards design. We talked to Blundell, now working on Andrew Bernstein Jack Ryan In Dubai, in front of two awards in LA, February 15th.
What was your process with a team Burton?
Call to perform Beetlejulice Beetlejujice came to the most important point in my life. I began to feel that corporate avenues descended me and I didn’t really enjoy my career as much as I should. My first conversation with the team was that he wanted to do as many things as possible and on the camera as much as possible. It was such a eureka moment for me. Recording literally came to life my love for my hair and makeup.
How did you get closer to Beetlejulice’s hair and makeup?
You can’t change Beetlejujuljica; That’s iconic. But I wanted to put my seal on him, so everything was a little thin and collapsed. His skin was more textured. When Michael (Keaton) arrived, he had his own variation because he was crucial in the initial appearance. He wanted to break down his nails, so we invented old nails, and it is very definitely about how he loves Beetlejulice’s hair, so I practically dressed the wig in front of me.
Christine Blundell and Trefor were proud to win an Oscar for makeup in 2000.

I imagine that you worked closely with Neal Scanlan, the head of the creature effects?
Yes – I was in the surrounding area for any distinct life figures that had contraceptives that kept weight, such as Javelin Lady or Jeremy’s parents, with a saw and whisk in my head. These were real tools, not fiberglass or polystyrene. For the cat lady we hid the actor’s legs in the couch and created dolls of legs; Then we added Pro Bondo Bites where the cat was dishes from it.
Creativity is quite ingenious.
Everything should be a language in the cheek to make you laugh. It’s Tim’s dark humor. You have to forget the rules. There is no certain “period”. You enter the team of the world and you have to see what he sees. The team is so impulsive because he is such a visionary. One morning, he told us that he wanted Beetlejujuljice to look into the sun and his eyes explode like a “capow” moment in the cartoon. So we came up with a fast fiberglass mask with Ping-Pong’s eyes and drank it on Michael.
Which look was the most challenging?
In the afterlife, lighting is completely different in the waiting room, an immigration hall and on the soul train. Mrtavi and living characters travel, so we had to evaluate their makeup level to create a consistent look. It took time for the paleness of the green skin to Danny Devit to straighten and that crazy yellow snack around her face. When Willem Dafoe arrived, he said, “Let’s make one side where I’m like Jack Lord Hawaii Five-O“Perfect hair and super-tan as a Hollywood idol of time. Since he was a cascade that made everything wrong, the other side was a deliberate conspiracy to make prosthetics like an old-fashioned Phantom Opera.
