Olivia Munn says she once rejected at least one million dollars to agree that she was silent for a traumatic incident that took place on the movie set.
AND A new girl and Line The actress talked to Monica Lewinsky for this week’s episode of her podcast Return (down) where she remembered experiences. While Munn did not describe the incident in detail, nor did he name the movie, she said that it took place at the beginning of the #metoo era, which began around 2017.
“There were things that happened on this movie, personally to me, who were really wrong and it was so traumatic that I had to file complaints with the studio,” Munn said. “He came to this place where I was offered a lot of money and many Money – seven figures – to accept their apology. But that came with NDA. ”
“It’s not that I would ever talk about it, really, because I just wanted to go through all that,” she continued. “And that’s why I don’t want to talk about the specific things that happened in that situation. But I said,” I don’t sign NDA. “And they said,” You have to. “And I just felt so wrong. It was the beginning of the era # Metoo and time … When people were targeting everyone who signed the nda and said, “Oh, you did it only for money.” Any validity (what happened)….
Munn recalled that the lawyer had invited her to take the time to think about it, but that she insisted that her decision was firm and wanted to tell the legal team of the other side herself. “One person told me,” This is a lot of money, it would be crazy if you didn’t take it, “she recalled.” And I told him, “I know this is a lot of money to you, but it’s not a lot of money to lose my voice.” We got out of there and I remember feeling so proud when I came out. ”
But then, she recalled laughter, she came into turn: “Shortly after, California did NDA -and illegal” – so if she had made an agreement, it would not be executable.
While Munn did not say that she regretted the decision, she noted: “It is not if I would not end up with the same decision, but I made that decision based on anger, and that is something I had to learn to overcome and use in my advantage, and learned I think about things and take the time and talk about it. ”
Munn has repeatedly talked about a set of bad behavior. In 2017, she was one of six women who accused Director Brett Ratar of sexual harassment, and Munn claimed that the warrior masturbated before her when she visited the 2004 movie set After sunset. And when Munn made a movie for 2018. PredatorsShe went to the 20th Century Fox studio that she had to behave opposite the registered sex offender, who was a longtime friend of director Shane Black.
